Livestock and Fish partner meeting to review and advise on a gender capacity assessment methodology

The Ethiopian Small Ruminant Value Chain Development Program under the Livestock and Fish (L&F) CGIAR program is organizing a partners’ group meeting at ILRI Campus in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on the 5th November, 2014
The meeting is a follow up on the preliminarily capacity assessment mission conducted in August and its follow-up held with you on 21st October 2014, as well as the gender capacity audit survey conducted in July 2014.
The November meeting aims to seek your views and advice on the advanced gender capacity assessment and development methodology draft. A draft gender capacity assessment tool will also be presented for review.
Under the L&F program a gender capacity assessment tool will be applied at seven project sites in five regions of Ethiopia. Ahead of this meeting, a first pilot in Mekelle (on November 3rd-4th) will be conducted with Tigray Agricultural Research Institute, Mekelle Research Center, Atsbi Woreda Bureau of Agriculture and the LIVES program. This initiative will ultimately contribute to the Ethiopian government vision to strengthen gender capacities for the Livestock sector as articulated in the (draft) Livestock Master Plan (August, 2014).
