Gender Component Planning Meeting, 29th-30th November 2012
Finalising the Gender strategy for the Livestock and Fish CGIAR Research Program
A two-day workshop 29th/ 30th November 2012
Zen Garden, Nairobi
Background The Gender Strategy for the CGIAR Research Program on Livestock and Fish “More Meat, Milk and Fish for the Poor, by the Poor” is well underway. At the same time a draft log frame for the Gender Strategy has been developed and the livestock and fish component leaders met recently for an in-depth discussion on the overall program and its critical success factors.
This highly participative meeting in Nairobi is designed to look at all these existing pieces so far and jointly develop a final strategy, log frame and action plan. A first draft and in-depth paper on the contribution of gender transformative approaches to value chain research for development are attached.
The desired outcomes of the workshop will be:
- An almost final gender strategy
- A final log frame
- A proposed budget
- An action plan with personal responsibilities, timing, resource needs and allocation.
